Division Requirements

Which Division should you choose?  We’ve recommended some requirements for each Division.  The info below does not mean these  will be the exact weights or exact movements in the Desert Games WODs.  However, if you are comfortable with the recommendations below you should be confident you can compete in the division listed.

Scaled Team Division

Teams will consist of 4 people – 2 men and 2 women.  The scaled division’s purpose is to give the beginning, casual, or first time athlete the opportunity to compete, challenge themselves, and/or use this competition as motivation for training.    The Scaled Division WODs will be designed to – as best as possible – mirror the movement patterns and metabolic demands of the RX division WODs.  The loads and certain advanced movements will be modified as we deem pertinent for this division.   Teams who perform the scaled workouts as prescribed will be eligible for prizes. Teams who need to additionally scale a movement for any reason may still compete but for the sake of fair competition will be scored at the bottom.   Here are the examples of loads / movements that you should be able to perform to compete in this year’s scaled competition. These may not be the exact movements or strength loads in the workouts but will give you an idea on what type of strengths an athlete should have to be able to compete in this division.

We will still keep to the above movement requirements, however, there MAY be an additional, special, or new movement/weight that we subjectively feel is applicable to this division.  Teams must be willing to agree to this – without argument – if they make the finals.
